Meta Ads or Google Ads: where to start?

The two platforms don’t serve the same need: one creates desire, the other captures existing intent. How to choose, then make them work together.

The question often comes up when launching a brand or an online store. The right answer depends less on the platform than on demand: are people already searching for what you sell?

Google Ads: capture intent

On Google, users describe a need in their own words. Search campaigns let you appear at that exact moment. It is often the best starting point when demand already exists: local services, known products, urgent needs.

Meta Ads: create demand

On Instagram and Facebook, nobody is looking for your product. Meta campaigns rely on targeting and above all on creative: visuals, videos, hooks. They work well to introduce a brand, a new product or a very visual offer.

  • Existing, searched demand: start with Google Ads.
  • Visual or new product: start with Meta Ads.
  • Long buying cycle: plan remarketing from day one.
  • Limited budget: one well-tracked platform beats two scattered ones.

Remarketing connects the two

Most visitors don’t buy on their first visit. Remarketing reaches people who viewed a product or filled a cart. That is the ecosystem we set up for Parfumaroc: Meta for discovery, Google for intent, remarketing to bring people back.

An ad only pays off if the landing page keeps its promise.

Before launching

Conversion tracking in place, fast landing pages, a clear offer: without these basics, no platform can be evaluated properly.

Since October 2026, 20% VAT may be added to the cost of campaigns: compare channels on the amount actually paid. To choose and run the right mix, see our digital advertising service or ask for a free quote.
